IN THIS EPISODE:

Oh, my heart breaks listening to this episode. It was Christmas Eve, and my power had gone out in the early morning hours because of a wind storm. My house was cold, dark, and very, very lonely. I got weepy as I talked about how lonely it was spending yet another holiday alone, by myself as I waited for Alan. Thankfully, this was the last Christmas that I'd have to spend that way. Now as I edit this episode, I just want to give that 2015 "me" a big hug, and tell her that it's going to be okay. Better than okay, even. The Christmases after that are going to get a lot better. I'm sure there are other women out there who have spent lonely holidays waiting for their loved one to get out of prison, or who spent Christmas alone for whatever reason. Big, big hugs to all of them. It WILL get better.
