IN THIS EPISODE:
I finally get paid! YAY! So I talk about all the things I need to pay for, and the errands I need to run before I go away on my work trip to Charleston. I have nothing to eat, and I’m trying to figure out what to make. I’m against the chicken soup idea because I’m so tired of eating noodles at this point because it’s just tearing my stomach up. I indulge in 4 or 5 calls with Gunner as a celebration.
I also tell the funny story of how I finally manage to get that mouse that’s been hanging around the house! Afterwards, I pray to God that He will keep all mice out of the house going forward.
And I have a rare text conversation with our volatile best friend, and while I’m still walking on eggshells around him, it was good to hear from him. I still had hopes that I could fix the rift between us, so I try (probably a little too hard) to make him laugh and lighten the situation. It was a brief sense of normalcy in our friendship. For the moment, at least.
Finally, I recount the discussion I had with Gunner about where we want to live when he’s off parole. As I wind down my day and get sleepy, I hash out the pros and cons of different places and talk about our tentative thoughts on Alaska. I also mention our views about the current state of the world and the importance of being a prepper.
